Mineral Ridge

Thanks to Hike it Baby, I have gotten pretty familiar with a lot of the beautiful hiking areas around Spokane, so we started a little Thursday hiking tradition the past four weeks. It’s fun to get to show Ted some of my favorite places from the past year since he’s on a pretty easy rotation right now, and we are both feeling the…if we don’t do it now, we might never get another chance…pressure.

In other news, this baby is welcome any time:).37 weeks and feeling ready.IMG_4231IMG_4235

Mineral Ridge is a beautiful little trail past the town of Coeur d’Alene, and overlooks part of the lake. The first two miles are basically straight up, or at least it felt that way today, so here we are taking a well deserved rest at the top. IMG_4236

Julian is definitely a little stubborn lately, but every once in a while, he has a day where he just wakes up delightful and stays that way all day. We had one of those days this week and it really made me think about how he used to be all tiny and living inside me and now he’s running around saying hilarious things with definite opinions about how life should be. IMG_4245IMG_4246

Pictured here is Julian poking “the baby” aka a mole on my knee that he decided was the baby. He’s definitely a little bit confused about all the talk about the baby lately. We’re trying to get him ready, but not sure how much is making sense to him. Sooner than later, he’ll get it when the baby arrives. IMG_4282We’re going to miss a lot of things about Spokane (hiking is definitely top three), but as long as we’re together we’ll be good.

Happy Cinco de Mayo amigos.

  1. Love your pictures, Elise! (and Ted!) Can’t believe how old Julian is looking/getting…it’s such a kick at this age when they’re expecting a (to come) new little sibling and you know they REALLY don’t get it, but they know something amazing is happening or about to happen. Love you! Gma MG and Gpa Roger,
